I know nothing about this chair, other than the fact that it was owned by a Widow, who lost husband and son in the war. She lived in Hunstville Ontario Canada.

Courting Chair? Did She have 2 of them?

I do know that she had a settee, but that is all I know. It only fits in a corner. I call it a treasure, as it was given to my Daughter Ariel, who has left us, she loved this chair as strange as it is. I was thinking of painting it but thought I should do some research.
