    As I said. Found this in the attic of an old home, built in 1906. No markings on it. The handle looks newer than the blade

      Looks like a hammer handle.

      I don't know what the iron part is - possibly part of a snow-catcher or fence topper - but I doubt that it is intended to be on a handle. The piece of wood looks like part of an old axe handle and is crudely fitted to the iron. I suspect this is some scrap pieces that somebody turned into a "tomahawk" as a kid's toy.
