This coffee set is stumping me. At first I thought it was Japanese but I can't seem to find anything similar online. It has that "tango glass" look of Art Deco i.e. black and a bright colour. But the creamer has a Eames shape about it. No markings. The cups are small - demitasse so I am thinking it is an espresso set.

    Any suggestions?

It's my understanding that espresso is not served from a coffee pot, it is brewed directly, and very quickly, into the cup. Demitasse cups have been used for many years especially in Europe for coffee following dinner, are not exclusively used for espresso. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, your coffee set is just lovely. The yellow colour with the black handles is just right. I love the way it's been photographed.

I haven't been able to find anything like this either, so I wish you well.

60's Mad Men look to it. Nice!

Thanks so much @Gillian for that info! I've also seen them used as hot chocolate cups too. So good point! It is a very fun set. I hope I can ID it.

And @Dizzydave - it does have the Mid Century flare but also Deco so I'm not sure :)

Thanks so much Dymphna! Are you able to post a picture of your set? I'd love to see it.
