Just A Sterling Silver Knife

In Silver > English Silver > Show & Tell and Silver > Sterling Silver Flatware > Show & Tell.
Sterling Silver Flatware51 of 169Gold washed Mappin & Webb 1907 Pierced Sterling Fish Fillet ServerNot sure how old this set is but it has a few markings on one of the pieces. Looks like SPAR on front and R048 or 49 on back

    I bought this off a friend for 10 bucks. I know it was made in London between 1896 and 1915. What I don't know is who the silversmith is...that is quite a strange mark, and I haven't found it on any UK silver site yet.
    Is it real or is it Memorex?

      Hi,
      There is extra mark far left. It`s tally mark to identify which piece a journeyman has actually made. This mark enabled journeyman`s production to be tallied and paid appropriately.
