    (708 items)

Paprika with yellow and creamy swirls. Sometimes this is called "end of the day" but I wouldn't call it that because the swirls of color are very controlled. A phenolic plastic (bakelite is same, but a patent name) company called Marblette specialized in these beautiful swirly colors.

Found the stretch bracelet in 1985. I have to replace the elastic cord again (probably black and not white this time). It's a nice 1.25" wide. The other 3 items were found online this year. I hoped they would all match and yes! they do.

The bangle is a saucer and tapers thickest from opening to edge. The earrings are 1" and the nuggets are probably the newest - 1950's - loose beads which were often mixed w/plain or rose brass beads. I used some matte silver until I can find something I like better.

Hope you enjoy! All comments are welcome - thanks!

Thanks Bonnie! I like these swirled items and love earthtones. I also have a few of the midnight green swirls but they just keep getting darker, the green is turning to brown and black.

I love this color, very spicy!! And I like the silver spacers, think they work extremely well with this color. Love those lozenge beads, the symmetry of the earrings, the shape of the stretch bracelet beads, it's all dazzling, great collection. :)

Thanks Ken for your comment - I love these colors too. More of them right now online but out of my price range. None of these items were over $15 and the big stretch bracelet that started it all was a gift.

Thanks everyone for loves: Vintagelover, gargoyle, aura, Thomas, Gudrun, nicefice, jscott, Kevin and Mike!

It's such great jewellery, Val! The size of the pieces, the shapes, and that colour!
You did well with the lozenge shaped bracelet - it would be difficult to pick a bead colour that highlights but doesn't take over. I like your choice.
When I look at this old plastic jewellery I am always attracted by the shapes they used. So appealing to the eye, and I would love to feel them!

Thanks Karen for your comments, I might hold out for the old carved rose metal beads, but silver is okay for now. I love their shapes too - yes, they feel good, smooth, no scratches - hard to believe they are more than 60 years old!

Thanks lentilka for understanding that I tried hard to find them all to match.

PAPRIKA! I love the name, almost as much as these lovely pieces!

Eileen thanks for designating this "Fantastic Plastic Day". These are so gorgeous and a good example of collecting a certain color one by one, but all match beautifully. In fact, there's a charm bracelet (butterscotch, brown, paprika drops) I found later that lives in the old cigar box with these lovelies.

This is a very nice bakelite color to collect. Brown (I love) often looks like black (I love) but this works with late 1950's Tiki barkcloth fabrics and Hawaian lightweight cotton prints used in bathing suits, wrap skirts, straw and wood handbags! Just love the color. I think you can tell.

Thanks to friends who love - Judy, Scott, Roy, Kyra, Peggy, gargoyle, Vintage, Rick, Trey, Sean, pops, Manikin, Lentilka, Bettyboo, Newtimes, Tigra, I hope I haven't left anyone out. XOXO

Eileen, thank you for this "Mary's fantastic plastic day", I needed to look at some treasures again too. I had some research and picture updates. It has been really fun to look at my stuff again! XOXO
