    Stevericha…
    (1 item)

I dug this egg(as I call it)up, A few months ago. But I'm still none the wiser as to what it is. It's kept me busy every night looking for its purpose. Now I give up. It's a highly glazed egg with a hole on top, and two holes on bottom, one of them is threaded. Somebody must know this item. Please please.... Steve

Well I am not sure as it is my guess. I just thought the 2 holes on the bottom MIGHT - One be for the center rod, and the other hole for a ground wire??

Again, I am just guessing and thinking of what we had on the Farm......??....

Darning egg? Back when women darned the toes of the family''s socks so they could wear the a bit longer? After all they had an "investment" in those socks...lots were hand knit back when. The hole in the bottom is where a sturdy handle went in
Maybe the 2nd hole was for getting the right angle for the mend with removal and reinsertion of handle..

I don't think a darning egg . They did not have a rim in center nor the 2 holes . Still a mystery ? What is the size of it ?

I too get the electrical feel, but perhaps it's an egg switch or lamp part?

A reference of scale to size it up would be helpful, thank you.
