    Here's a mystery item that I purchased at my local thrift shop today.I have no idea what this is or what it's purpose was.It is 9 inches tall and 8 inches wideIt is cast bronze or brassIt has four holes to mount it to something.When upright the hand holding the bowl comes downMaybe something to collect coins for the poor?Om really not sure. Any help on this unique item will be appreciated thanks

      My first thought was a font for Holy water, perhaps from a Catholic church or facility—though in that case, it would be surprising there are no religious symbols on it.
