This is now hanging in my garage. My wife won't let me hang it in the house. It hung in the dining/family room of my house where I grew up in Detroit. It is older than me (74). Don't have any more info. Removed it when my parents sold the house. (Put another fixture in its' place) I just thought it was too neat to destroy. House was leveled three years after sold.

Its beautiful! My guess would be this lamp used to be a gas lamp. . Before most homes had electric. . Also would guess if you sold it it would be worth a nice amount for a garage lamp! And your wife might like it more! Thanks for sharing!
