Circa 1972 when I used to buy Hot Rod and some drag racing magazines.
Starts out with an Altered aka gasser. Very cool but it was relegated to bracket racing. Back then the favorite classes seemed to be funny cars and pro stock along with the rails (AA/Fuel Dragsters). Most of the photos were of funny cars. The rails all did seem to look very similar and the funny cars back then had excellent and unique paint schemes.
The last three photos are funny cars. I recall seeing an earlier version of the Blue Max on its way to Orange County International Raceway. It looked very neat under the lights but close up and in full daylight it was a bit blackened by the smoke and fire from the headers and the paint had some damage.
A Vega funny car? There were classic cars and then there was the Vega.

Nice Anglia. Hmmm - the Vega. Well at least it was better than Ford's answer to it's introduction - the Pinto.

Thank you very much buckethead. The Pinto is the most infamous of these cars. There was also the Gremlin
