Manufactured in July, 1980 by the Winko-Matic company, this vintage pedestrian signal came from the city of New York. For its age, it is great condition with minor wear and tear. The original lamps aren't present, but Portland orange and Lunar white lamps were used for the indications of "DONT WALK" and "WALK."

The last of the truly cool ped signals, IMO.

This was indeed the last pedestrian signal of its kind (bi-modal) to be produced for New York City. It was only about two to three years later that the new 16" DONT WALK/WALK units from Winko-Matic made their debut on NYC streets.

You can say that this particular unit was short-lived.
