Another early and rare cameo by Riedel I am lucky enough to own, very different in colour to my other Riedel with it's deep green.

I love the shape of this bowl...The green is wonderful, a deep rich green.. the cameo flowers are a dark deep outlined and highlighted with gold, with hardly any wear to it... it has a large and perfectly ground pontil.

A lovely size measuring....9" long x 5" wide x just over 3.5" tall.

I believe this bowl is shown bottom right of the catalogue page seen in the Riedel cabinet at the Passau (last photo)....it looks to be the same shape....you will also see in the cabinet the same green and red cameo as my bowl but! in a vase form..

A beauuuutiful! bowl.

Hope you enjoy looking at it as much as do....:-)

Penny, this is such a beautiful bowl. As usual, your eye for the unusual didn't let you down! I'll have to go look at my Passau books for the shape. I just love this one! :)

    Wooh! A beauty!!!
As a non glassie, the textured green background made me think early Daum, before noticing the clear glass lip :-)
Such different techniques depending of different makers...

The very same shape with a typically etched décor consisting out of transparent lightpurple flower was mase by french St-Loius and I would assign your vase to St.Louis, too.
