I have many old bibles and hymnals, prayer books and first communion items from my Catholic and Methodist upbringing. Enjoy getting them out and looking through them on occasion.

      Mary,
These are nice. I too have some very old Catholic prayer books. The oldest is from 1906.

Hi jscott! I added the third photo which is in the small prayer book (middle photo). This page lists the movable feasts and are dated from 1905 to 1919. Thanks for the loves to Caperkid, TassieDevil, fortapache, jscott and aura. It's nice to share collections with you all.

I love the movable feast days schedule. The church must have been so very different back then. Much stricter than they are today.

jscott,, I am certain it is vastly different than when I was a girl. Many of my fondest and strangest memories are from growing up Catholic. No offense to any practicing Catholics, but I remember when I lost my chapel veil and the nun stuck a used Kleenex on my head to show reverence. Also, my classmates and I would subtly change the lyrics to hymns and prayers...we were kids...
