Found this at my favourite oppie here a couple of months ago. It is a large ceramic bird, nr 621 designed Gerd Hjort Petersen for Søholm, Denmark, 1960s. Length 30 cm, height 29 cm. Gerd Petersen was born in 1934 and signs with "GHP" on her pieces. Gerd became Bornholm’s first female pottery apprentice when she took up her apprenticeship at Michael Andersen pottery in her youth. By the time she was 27 Gerd was working in her own studio at Royal Copenhagen Porcelain exhibiting in Denmark and abroad. She remained with Royal Copenhagen from 1965-1973. She also designed pieces for Soholm Pottery. This is one of them.
