Very old looking, sterling silver trim. Heavy like stoneware. Hand painted brushwork looks unusually skilled.
In over 14 years of treasure hunting I have only seen one other plate that amazed me like this.

Anyone know anything about this piece or any thoughts I would love to hear about it.

this might be japanese. the rim was probably unglazed, hence the silver trim. nice plate!

Do you know who may have done the silver work, it seems hand decorated. I am a painter and the brushwork seems highly skilled to me. What do you thin? Is itt masterful artwork or above average? If it is average then average must be pretty good.
