I was stationed in Germany when we got the word that President Kennedy had been shot. That was 12:30 pm Dallas time, but 6:30 pm Germany time. I was heading over to the post exchanged and by the time arrived it was dead silent throughout the exchange. I remember a German girl coming up to be and saying that our President Kennedy had been shot. I headed back to Hq Co. where we were put on alert until the next morning. The Stars & Stripes was the unoffical publications for the US Armed Forces, that morning I was lucky to get a copy of the Stars & Stripes because they had not published enought copies. 48 years later I still have my copy. I have added the Stars & Stripes copy of the Oswald slain.

My father was stationed in Korea when MLK was murdered. The story he relates is very similar.

Like they say, you remember, I was at sea on the USS Forrestal on that day........I had never before or since heard and entire ship containing over 4000 men go that silent............and yes it was men this was before integration................
    8. scottvez scottvez, 13 years ago
"integration usually refers to race. What you mean though is female integration or "Feminization". ..."

Interesting when folks try to look smart:
Integration is a perfectly acceptable term. To be more specific the term would be GENDER Integration. The term "Female Integration" doesn't make any sense. It would be similar to saying African American Integration instead of Racial Integration!

ABout fifteen years ago I remember looking through boxes at my grandparents cabin and found a newspaper from Rock Island, Ill with Al Capone on the front. I was not supposed to be digging in the boxes, so I could not ask him about it, and didn't feel right taking it. Several years later, I don't know what happened to the box and my grandparents did not know what I was talking about. I wish I would have at least showed him.

What is your opinion on two shooters at the Kennedy assasination?? Grassy knoll, overpass,--- any comments???
    22. ttomtucker ttomtucker, 12 years ago
I think every president has had a commission look into some new evidence that has been brought up. I believe there was another person at the grassy knoll. I don't think Oswald was that great of a shooter from what I have read. My opinion only.
