My 400th post is a repost of the first one 4+ years ago. I've deleted a number of blurry or dumb posts - planned to reshoot favorite items.
17.5" long, largest octagonal bead is .75". It was in a baggie of loose beads my dear mentor Frances from Missouri sent me for my birthday years ago. I remember the box weighed 15 lbs - full of beads - some broken pieces of jewelry, some in perfect shape, but not the style for her antique store.
Yes, I restrung it and used a nice brass hook. The glass beads are heavy, my guess Bohemian. Hope you enjoy - thank you Frances!
This is beautiful!
Thank you Bonnie - I love it and have worn it a few times.
Thanks Caper for love!
Happy 400th! ;-D
You did a very good job with those beautiful beads, and Frances is a treasure, 15 lbs of beads and bits, woahhh!!!
Congratulations on 400 posts! Great photos :)
I love this necklace, it's very much my style ;) These beads are such a beautiful shape and colour!
It is beautiful
Thank you Kyra for the 400th greetings. Frances was a great collecting mentor. I think from the beads she sent I was able to restring 10 necklaces, made a mélange flapper necklace for her of best glass beads, amethyst colored glass necklaces for 3 of her grandkids (fantastic by the way, but I didn't take any pictures) and I have a pile of black glass beads that are waiting to be restrung.
Here is my favorite restring - the green pyramid beads: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/64611-1920s-30s-glass-pyramid-beads-and-white
Thank you pebble - yes, this shape bead is so interesting and I love the color too.
Thank you lentilka11 for your beautiful comment!
I love amber colored beads. These are great
There was a time I never left the house without a crystal necklace on...how I wish I would of kept them all :(
This topaz crystal is beautiful!
Thank you Eileen! Yes, I love the old crystal necklaces. Not so easy to find at el cheapo prices anymore. I really love this geometric cut.
Thank you Sharone - remember the topaz hinged bracelet we saw in Richmond last year - would have looked great with this.
Thanks CW friends for loving this old post.
