My sister bought this trunk in Seattle in the late '70s It is 29" wide by 16" deep by 20 1/2 " high. Whenever I look at it I imagine stories of where it's been. I would love to know the significance of the picture pasted to the inside of the lid. Does anyone know anything about the scroll work - made of tin I think - or the picture?

    Thank you.

Lovely trunk. The picture or lithograph is one of many common themes trunk makers placed on the interior lid of their trunks. Most do not have any particular significance other than nice mood enhancing artwork. The star motif slat clamps are a bit unusual as are the latches -- I hope another contributor can help identify them as well as the tin pattern.
