I picked it up as a curiosity. I just want to know:

When the Mao Zedong-themed plate was made (mark looks very new)
and why it seems to have been made for the American market?
And does anyone know what the front says?

I had a feeling CW would have a Mao Zedong section. Looks like I was right. LOL.

I have been to Tiananmen Square which is where these "red flowers" are - they aren't there. It is a huge empty parking lot with a lot of guards hanging out watching tourists in front of the Forbidden City entrance. Pretty interesting plate. I don't remember seeing it on my trip.

"The East is Red" - interesting plate. I have a copy of the "little red book" in English that I bought at a local militaria auction some years ago - Cheers - Bob

      Thank you both for commenting.

I read a really good book years ago, Valentino, about the events up to and during what happened there.

Beyemvey, thank you for translating it.
