One of the many things I collect are anything to do with Janet & Anne Grahame Johnstone. They were twins, daughters of a well known artist, Doris Zinkeisen, and they collaborated in painting many illustrations for books, cards and magazines. I started buying their books in the 1970's. I have most of their books now, and quite a few years ago now, there was an article in a National newspaper how some lost illustrations of there's had been found and auctioned off. They were the illustrations for Bill and Ben and the Potato Men (British will know them as Bill and Ben were well known to Childrens Telly from the 50's). Anyway, some time later 3 pictures came up for sale on ebay, and I managed to buy them, then a few more years later another came on sale too, so I now have 4 original Bill and Ben pictures.

I don't know Devo! We mostly didn't actually have a tele when I was young! I am not sure where we watched tele, though I remember watching Wooden Tops and Andy Pandy?

I mean the rock group Devo who had a similar look when they formed in 1973.

In Australia we didn't get TV until 1956 and then we had both US and British shows like Andy Pandy. Wooden Tops I do not remember. We did have our own genius program called Mr Squiggle. He was amazing !!!

      I just got nostalgic !!!

I loved Bill and Ben too! "Hello little weed" "weeeeeed!" I don't think it was meant to be taken anyway but literally.

Mr Squiggle....now I'm all nostalgic. I loved Blackboard - so cranky!!
