    I acquired this item from my in-laws and would like to "dress" it up but don't want to ruin it if it holds value. Any information would be more information than I have now.

      Nice, but read up on it. I'm not well in the know, but believe you will find that they were coated periodically with "Stove Black" while being used.

      I've looked but there's nothing on this actual one. I'm not even sure when it was made.
