The Zsolnay Fountain was designed by Andor Pilch in 1912, and was moved to its present site in 1930. It was a gift to the city from Miklós Zsolnay, in honor of his father, Vilmos. The four eosin glazed water-spouting oxen-headed spigots, and the fountain itself, became one of the main attractions of Pécs. It is an example of the secessionist style in art.

This small replica is about 5.5" tall and 3" wide. It has the colorful Eosin glaze for which Zsolnay is justly renowned. The base is marked Zsolnay, Hungary. It is nice to know that despite the WWII and Cold War eras' toll, Zsolnay is still producing fine ceramics today.

Much appreciated Malkey - BTW - the glaze looks much better on your Zsolnay female figural statuette!
