This came in the mail today. i won it on ebay and i just love it! it's 6.5" tall and signed on the bottom with a red stamp, but i can't make out anything in the mark. would it be described as moriage? do you think it's Meiji? do you know anything about it?

Really amazing great piece
This one really is beautiful! I found the original listing through an Image search, but didn't find another one like this one anywhere else on the web.

i found a few moriage / satsuma buddhas from 1900-1920s/1930s online, but ones like this are earlier. this is an especially nice one w/ the fancy necklace and eye shadow he's wearing.
i guess this is a bodhisattva - due to the necklace.
Stunning! If you live close to any museums that have Asian artifacts, the curator may be able to help. Or else a ticket to Antiques Roadshow!
