I have never seen a knife like this before. It is approx. 3 1/4 inches long unopened and 5 1/2 inches long opened. Someone worked real hard to eliminate all markings on the knife blade which is truly a shame. The handle feels like plastic.

Very interesting little knife. I don't think anyone eliminated any markings. I thinks it was a piece of junk from the start and the blade never was marked. I love the handle which is carved to look like a man and I believe this indicates it was intended as a child's knife. The treatment of the head almost looks like he's wearing a helmet. A spaceman? There are marks on the right side of the handle at the bottom (if you hold it with the head up) but I can't make them out.

The marks on the bottom right of both sides look like a square lower case 'u.40K"

Letters that look like "u" and "K" are both in the Cyrillic alphabet. Maybe USSR? That would explain the quality, or lack thereof. Also there's a symbol on his "helmet." Maybe he's a deep sea diver? Definitely not U.S. production.
