Very strange subject for women adornment!
A little carved bone skull, very realistic, with a tiny turquoise on top for setting.
Whole steel pin is 21cm (8.1/8"), carved skull itself is 1.5cm square (9/16").
Odd litle guy !

Judy, thanks, 21 cm place it in 19th, or 1920, due to the size of the hats then. Longest are 30cm for Belle Epoque monumental feathered hats!
From the style of the setting and subject of this one, I'd say 1850/1860 ...
