    Hello CW friends!!

This would be the interior of the Victorian era English made round top wicker trunk that I just posted.

To my surprise, the interior was in very nice condition and needed nothing more than a good cleaning. I think this one has such a beautiful interior and it's a rare thing to find one of these wicker trunks with it's complete interior, including the tray with divider, which is most always missing in trunks of this age.

Thanks for stopping to have a look and I always truly appreciate you all for stopping in!

    Scott

Fantastic Scott - almost as good as the outside!
This trunk is really interesting to me. I can just see the wicker showing on the lid there. I never knew trunks were made like this; just fascinating.
      Thanks for educating me!

      Karen,
Thanks very very much! Actually, all or most of these wicker trunks were made in Europe. I'm really not aware of any that were made here in the US. They were light weight and easy to handle. Unfortunately, few have survived the test of time due to the materials they were made of. Most that I see today are far past the point of return. This one was nearly to that point. Thanks again!

      Drill,
You're too kind!! Actually, all the interior needed was to be sprayed down with Oxy-Clean and a good steam cleaning. It came out much cleaner than the last.
The trunk pictured in the link is too far gone in my opinion. the sides of the lid are missing and those are really hard to fabricate. BTW, I love all of the craigslist links. Even if I don't buy any, I just love looking at old trunks!! Thanks again so very much Drill!!

I agree Scott far gone,I hope Someone may tackle this French one out in L.A.
      Rare!
    17. jscott0363 jscott0363, 7 years ago
Wow!!! Maybe Randall Barbera will get hold of that one. It'll get done properly if he gets it.

I'm looking at a French made leather trunk that's elaborately studded with brass and sheet brass decorations. I've never seen anything like it myself. Deciding whether to go for it or not.
