Just picked this rocking chair up from an estate sale. It belonged to the mother of the deceased who passed away at the age of 93. Doing the math I am guessing this is from early 1900's. I would love any information about this chair that anyone can tell me. I plan on sanding and staining and enjoy it for years to come. I am also not sure if the seat is original, what the material is, and how to treat it.
I have a rocking chair just like this one. I have refinished it and it has
a woven wicker seat. It was my mother's and it dates from the
early 1900's. At least that is what my mother told me. It has rocked
many babies to sleep (including me).
