Hello I recently purchased this doll at an online auction. She was described as a turned German shoulder doll head. What would be the best type of body for this doll? Is the head an earlier ABG? The porcelain is lighter compared to other antique German dolls head I have in my collection. Is this type of molding an 'adult' or 'child' head? Thank you for looking!

What a fantastic doll. She is a closed mouth which is earlier and much more valuable . She belongs on kid leather woman's body . I would not call her a dolly face and she is a turned head .
I don't think she is a ABG she may be but may have been made for French market by any number of companies and since the pencil markings really don't tell who made her and and orange is painters signature ,So she has no markings to ID to her but dates 1870-1890's . The painting and highlighting on lips looks more for French market .
She should be on this type of body

Wow-thank you. I had posted this in a facebook doll collector group and they said it was ABG. I agree with your comment after looking at various ABG dolls. One last question, what size body would work best? The head is 6 inches high and the base is about 6 inches also.
