I love this beautiful cuff with gorgeous stamping: spiny oyster and sterling 1" wide cuff was made by Navajo artist Wilbert Benally. I believe he's also repeated this cuff w/purple oyster, red coral, turquoise, lapis. I bought this mid-1990's at an Indian Arts auction in San Diego, CA. Not sure if it is from 80's or 90's. He is still making gorgeous jewelry and his designs are expensive.
Oh boy!!! What a bracelet!!!
Looks miles too big for my wrist, too. :+))))))))
Bonnie - no it works for us - the bracelet is hefty but the opening fits 6-6.5" wrist without fear of it falling off. I have a small wrist too.
Thanks Kevin for first love and Mani for your love@
Absolutely beautiful!
Very nice :)
Thanks Gudrun - yes, it was a great find. The auction every 3 months - mainly for trading posts and shops going out of business, or collectors selling off collections. I think I paid $25 for this amazing cuff!
Thank you my friend Elisabeth!
Thanks also for loves: Scott, Marta, CindB, Aura, Caper, Phil and Lisa :-)
Scrumptious bracelet! :)
Thank you Katherine for your comment - yes, I really love the stamp work and the salmon color of the shell :)
Thanks also to Melanie, Karen, Fort, Hel1, Judy, Mike, Ken and EZa!
Love it at most!!! It would fit me too ;-D
Thanks kyra for your nice comment. It's shaped for a small wrist. I posted this because another CW friend posted the purple oyster cuff, but I can't find that now. During this same time frame beautiful 2"+ Zuni butterfly brooch/pendants were made, very popular. They used the new salmon and purple oyster stones, but others used traditional coral, MOP and turquoise. I couldn't afford these back then. Now I'm prowling online for them....:-)
Thanks friends for loves: Ken, Katherine, Rick and Kerry!
Love, love this bracelet!!! Don't you have another red one but it's a bit thinner? Love that one too! Check my post...I just got done talking to him!
Hi Share - no I don't have a chunky red coral cuff - I wish!! The only red I have is Zuni petit point and tiny smashed bits like Tommy Singer - but not...
haha I was trying to hit the love button and that's when I knew I had seen it before! I love this bracelet.
OMG I just saw your response above... I bet you're glad you have the "tiny smashed bits" by Tommy Singer now, aren't you???!!! His stuff quadrupled in price since his passing. Benally is a good name to invest in!
Share - thanks for commenting! I just bought a pretty print skirt in this color and I was thinking "what on earth do I have to go with this coral color?" AND wow!! This bracelet is perfect! I love wearing skirts in this hot weather. It is so cute - a "Jacobean floral print" also got another that day in a navy bandana print. Hmm...no navy jewelry, oh well. Sterling goes with everything doesn't it? XOXO
Thank you friends for your loves on this bracelet :-)
