    i bought this about 25 years ago. probably over paid but loved it. no idea of actual age

      This has some odd "Franken Furniture" features: metal lion head, the four corner decorations on each drawer, drawer pulls (one looks lower than the other).

      Looks to be late 19th century-- some photos of the dovetails, back, inside and back of drawer showing pull connection, would be helpful in making the determination of what is original.

      K took some different pictures. Hysterical that I have had this piece for over 25 years and never noticed the drawer pulls being off till you said it.

      Looks to be late 19th century based on the dovetails. The drawer decorations look like a smaller maker embellishment to give the piece a more desirable look and probably from the period.

      The lion was probably a later addition.

      yes the lion was definitely an add on as nail is much newer than the old hand made nails in the rest of it
