Japanese Kutani
The first character is the mark for the Kutani region, the second the maker or kiln mark

The mark reads the Nine Valleys.
Would anyone have a guess on how old it is?
If there’s no country of origin marked on it, that usual means it is earlier than 1898, however it may have had a sticker with the country on it, which has since been removed or worn off.
