A nice example of fine Art deco paste jewellery, French, hallmarked with the boar's head for silver, no maker's mark.
These pins are called jabot pins but also sûreté pins or cliquet pins...
Blue chalcedonies nearly look like cloudy sapphires! Little calibré cut onyx and sparkling tiny pastes.
9cm (3.5") long, each end 2.8cm (1.1/8") by 1.5cm

Hi Kerry!
It is like a stick pin with an ornate stop.
One end is held by the "cliquet" (pic2, upper end) the needle has a groove, so you have to turn this end to disengage, pin the brooch and replace the end.
When worn, you see only the two ornate parts :-)
