This is an interesting vase from Japan, mainly because it has proven a theory I had developed about Nanbu Glass.
This is not a common sticker and appears only on these earlier (1960s) style of vases. The vases are generally well made and some I had seen made me consider the possibility that these were a brand from Kamei Glass.
That little sticker on the bottom of this vase has confirmed it for me!!
The vase itself is very much a product of the 1960s in style.
Made in a traditional gourd shape it has a sandy coloured base that has been swirled with crimson and a green based black. In some areas the base has coloured the crimson almost to an orange and really greened up the black. Of course, the whole has been given a clear case and the base ground.
I don't find it the most attractive piece of glass, but it has it's place here.
