This was an as-is purchase many years ago. The white enamel on copper looks like a 1950's car grille! Originally a necklace. I found a reprint of mid 50's Vogue advertisement in my research book but not sure if it's okay to copy the image. Shows this necklace and earrings. "vivid enamels against the soft glow of copper.... Flamingo necklace $5, earrings $2.50 plus tax. At fine stores everywhere....Los Angeles. New York, Chicago, San Francisco"
This was another popular Matisse design, available in other colors and without enamel.
