I bought this online last year in a big lot of other jewellery. I think these are new made in an old style. Don't know much about them. I've seen similar styles sold as 'trade beads' and read that these are often made new to look old. It's threaded on raffia type grass. Any thoughts are welcome. I'm looking forward to learning anything about this necklace.

The millefiori in these beads is very fine! It's interesting that such good beads are threaded on raffia.

Thanks for the love aura and racer4four

Thanks for your thoughts racer4four :-) I wonder if the raffia is all part of trying to make it look old style? I've really got no idea

Raffia is a cheap string and thick enough so they don't move around. I don't know how old they are but I believe they are known as Mosiac beads. Very beautiful, I'll see if I can find more info.
