It was a gift from my dad several years back. I think he got it on eBay. It has a closed face with 3252 stamped all over the case often with 25 below (stem, front case lid, and both back case lids). Also there is a crown with fine silver stamped into each lid. The inner case on the back has "Patent stemwinder" and what I believe says "A Landry Locle" below. The inner workings don't match well with any watches I've seen before but there is a lever between f and s to set the running time, and as I have it, it will run about 15min ahead every 24 hours. It takes a little shake to get it started from a stop, but once it's going it runs well.
When was this made? Is A. Landry a known watchmaker or a company? What is the significance of the Patent Stemwinder - was it novel at the time?
