    I hung the ring on the wing tip of my angel & kids figurine (THAT is NOT my hand! )and I was able to get a good shot-- Can someone identify the stone ,and like Roddyq I too have never known what this is made of, but it looks primitive . I believe it is Native-American tho--my best guess. I have had it 38 years, it is darkening. Has always had the lines of striae in it. Thanks.

      No, not Native American. The stone is Malachite, and the ring looks like Ivory.

      Hi Lois, your ring is very nice indeed. Looking at it's composition it looks like as Efesgirl said to be made of ivory as I was checking out different types of material used in traditional carvings yours looks much like ivory. Such an awesome treasure. Thank you for sharing.
