    (31 items)

Here is a unique item from the circus. I believe to be form the early 1900's (only guessing here) I believe the markings to be of Native American decent. For the age of this item, the condition good, with signs of wear.

Here is another beautiful Vintage circus costume from the private collection of Mark and Debra Miller.
    Mint condition costume.
garnished with rhinestone and sequin, custom made.
Most of the costumes in the collection are made of, and or including, Chiffon, Silk, Taffeta, Velvet, and Satin.
Our entire collection consists of over 125 costumes / Headpieces / Accessories / etc.
    Era: 1960's -70's ?

Please feel free to comment, or post information regarding anything posted in the collection. Thanks for looking!

We acquired the entire collection from a gentleman by the name of Rich Deptula, from the Cleveland, Ohio area several years ago. He has since passed away. My wife and I own a costume and magic shop in Ohio and that is how we came to own this collection. All of the costumes are in pristine condition, quite a few are auto- graphed by the performers who wore them, we also have the matching headpieces as well. We purchased his complete collection of costumes from him.
Mr. Deptula was an avid circus enthusiast and collector, it was an absolute pleasure to meet him and get to spend time with him. We are very honored to be in possession of his collection.
More pictures to follow, and also seeking additional information on any of the pieces.
As well as the costume collection, Rich also gave us, all of his original paperwork on each piece. However, he was not a great bookkeeper and many of his notes are incomplete, but we are very fortunate to have some information and have been able to research some items.

Just curious, what Native American marking looks exactly like a swastika?

Here rickdrake a quick google search:

To Native American Indians, the swastika is a symbol of the sun, the four directions, and the four seasons. ... The broken cross symbol or the Swastika, is commonly known as the "whirling log" to many Native Indians, though the literal meaning in the Navajo language "that which revolves".

Oh yes, N.A. did use that symbol for sure. It probably takes people aback, but they used it.

I was reading the comments and just had to ask, are you in need of a mascot? I've got one for you that will amaze just about anyone... here's the link! ;)
