My favorite 9" French opalescent basketweave 3 row open edge Fenton plate. It's got nice weight to it and a blue tinge to the opalescence but I cannot find any documentation of this piece.

Has anyone ever seen one of these? I can find three other colors of this design listed in various research books but no listings for any of these plates in French opalescent
I have one exactly like yours... found at a consignment store. I too am searching for information. The double open lace/crochet pattern is very common while the triple is a bit rarer. I’ll keep you posted on anything I find, please do the same for me! Good luck!

These no.1093 items in opalescent colors were made in the early 1930s by Fenton. This plate shows up on a S.S.Kresge Co company 1933 catalog page inopalescent colors. Since Fenton did not market regular line items through others, it is likely that is where your plates were sold through.
Thank you Du Da for that info. I found out that S.S.Kresge Co company eventually became K-Mart upon further investigation. I thought this was interesting

Yes. The Fenton name is French Opalescent.
Fenton used the tern 'French Opalescent" for their clear glass with opalescence. This glass looks to be blue opalescent, which some call Ice Blue Opalescent. The openedge basletweave pattern was introduced c1911 and made off and on for many years thru c2000s. I 'think' this may be an early chop plate and seems to be fairly rare.
9" was just "plate" size as advertised in the Kresge catalog as I noted. Chop plates are typically much larger and Fenton did not produce one in the 1093 pattern.
Fenton did indeed make a Blue Opalescent. This is not it. There is no mistaking or confusing it with French Opal which will throw some blue as will most early produced clear / white opalescent glass that was produced with bone ash in the old manner.

since these are known to exist in clear opalescent and ice blue opalescent, one can only comment on the appearance in these images which look decidedly blue on my monitor..., which is why I give the explanation of 'French Opalescent' being the tern used by Fenton to represent clear glass with opalescence...
TallCakes...the three row open edge 1093 as shown was not made in Blue Opalescent in any form to my knowledge. I have collected this pattern for many years. If there is a 3 row open edge (something) in Blue Opal out there, I sure would like to find one sometime. I have seen plenty of 1092 2 row open edge in Blue Opalescent, but nothing with 3 rows.

Yeah!!! I now have 2 of them! Now that my eyes are open, I’m seeing all kinds of goodies in thrift stores, garage sales, etc...
I've managed to find 3! I'm surprised these aren't mentioned somewhere as a customer make. I also recently lucked into a 3 row open edge bowl in mandarin red...love the open edge pattern!
