Found in a friend's house. Maybe walnut? Tramp art? Anyone know where it might be from? how old? its value?

Could we please have a look inside the box, and also the bottom? Also, what materials do you think the top is made of?

Unfortunately, CW does not offer appraisals. But welcome to CW!

A good place to search for comparisons is ebay. That is where I first look for boxes.

Thanks. I'll send pictures of inside and bottom but there are no markings, completely plain. It's all wood -- I'm guessing walnut by some pictures I've seen with similar coloration but I really don't know what wood it is.

Yup - eBay is great for comparisons. There's also Etsy, and Ruby Lane - I also do google image searches, they throw up so many items.

The box has an Eastern European look imho - maybe Ukraine or Belarus. Would need to see the bottom, the hinges and the interior to venture a guess about its age.
