I'd really love to figure out when this dresser was made (this is the unsolved bit) if anyone could direct me to a good source. I haven't been able to find pictures or anything online of anything similar. I purchased it through a local area Facebook group, it was covered in duct tape. Too much of the original finish (the blondish color seen at the top edge of the middle-middle drawer) was in bad condition, so I'm getting it down to the mahogany and planning to stain it. It appears to have had a good-sized mirror at one time, as it has what appear to be mounting holes on its back panel- but that was long gone before I got it. I've been slowly trying to find pieces in Mid-Century style, but on a pretty tight budget right now. I guess it's probably not a really great find, but I'm excited to help it regain its dignity and give it a good home! Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with finding out when this was made!

Just some company history. If you do an google image search on Bassett mid-century dresser you might turn something up. You also might have a model nbr. there, B6-952?

Great that you have a corner of the Mahogany label from the West Indies.

Gillian, thanks for the comment and the links! I'll definitely check them out. I've done quite a bit of image searches using all different combos of keywords and that model number (that's what I was hoping it was, anyway), but nothing has come up yet that looks like this piece. Most mid-century pieces I've seen in my searches have cleaner lines (not the multi-level layers) and the legs are usually tucked under and narrower, instead of all one piece and on the outside like these are. Not sure if that indicates earlier or later design, though.
      Thanks again for the help!
