This was bought at a shop and it was suggested that it was from the Victorian era. It looks as if it was made in a mold and the pin is rather crude. The marking appears to be 'pins.8568.' Silver content or stock number? I'd like to know where and when it was made. I find it a bit creepy.

It's "830S" which means 830 silver. I can't see what is in front of those numbers. Continental, made in one of these countries:
Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland or Portugal

Yes, now that you mention it, Scandinavian origin makes sense.

Thank you! I had never heard of this until now. The internet has some examples of pendants with this motif. I loved the series "The Vikings" from a few years ago.
