Oh dear! A lovely beaded necklace that someone told me was jade. This was another of my late aunt's necklaces, and I have tried researching. it does look like jade, but I am still a bit of a 'newbie' when it comes to this beautiful natural commodity.
The necklace needs re-strung, but again another little beauty jade or not.
Can anyone unravel this little mystery of 'is it or isn't it' necklace?
Era would be 40's/50's.
Lovely color, plus family memories! Very pretty necklace :-)
But no... not jade, glass (either Peking glass or Czech)!
The clue is the green color flecking, in jadeite jade color distribution in the stone is very different. Other jade like glass may have green swirls in it, another clue for "not jade"!
