This is the latest find to my collection. It is a
423 Rugby four burner wood stove made in Gadsden Alabama.
    Manufactured by A and J . So far I haven't been able
to find anything else on or about it. I did find another stove
that was a two burner on one site but it only gave a value
no information. I guess it does not matter since I am going
to actually use it in a cottage I'm putting together. I just know
I love it and can't wait to use it.

Thank you Caperkid, jscott0363 and freon.
I can almost smell and taste the food and
coffee prepared on this stove and it's going
      to continue to make some.

What is the height it looks smallish in the picture. Or too much caffeine this morning.

My friends grandfather worked for the railroad and in the back of the caboose was a stove like yours. After they retired that caboose he had it in his house for years. I know there were several uses for the small stoves, just one I wanted to share with you.

This type stove was multi functional but I think you might have better luck researching it as a laundry stove. The Rugby brand was sold by Montgomery Ward.

It is very small Caperkid, that's why I wanted it
and I always have to much coffee, lol. I've
been looking for months for a small stove. For some
reason they are hard to find in this area. I was very
happy when I found this one. Thank you aura for the
love and thanks officialfuel and fhrjr2 for the info and
sharing it's very helpful and I appreciate it very much.

fhrjr2 is correct, this is a Laundry Stove. You would put your copper boiler on it to do laundry. That is why it is so short, so you could wash the cloths. They were often installed on a back porch or basement.

Thank you fhrjr2 for the information. It's
the perfect size for a small cabin which is
where it is going now. It may still see a load
of laundry or two yet. It's like new but it will
      be used now.
