This Victorian vase is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over shaded coral pink, with a white interior. It has a diamond quilted air trap pattern & a satin finish. The vase measures 18.5 cm tall, 2.7 across the top rim, & 5.2 cm across the base. A flea market find. I think it is most likely English.

Yes, I also see this type of glass called Mount Washington by US sellers. I do have a book on some of the Mount Washington production, primarily Burmese & other decorated glass, but no air trap items are pictured, so it's difficult to be able to tell exactly which types are by that company. As this particular vase was purchased within Australia, I feel it is most likely English, as we were a British colony most of the glass (& ceramics) we imported was from England. Very little American glass (of the Victorian period) would have made it to Australia at the time.

Happy to be of help! I look forward to seeing your herringbone vase.
