It is missing what looks like 1/2 of the lamp shade. I see these go up for auction several times a year. I know it is in one of my books. The bubbles should not be in there.
Not sure, shade does fit snugly in base.
What are bubbles, missing glass fruit?

Found "IDEAL" on lip of glass shade.
Also a serial number that I cannot make out.
Yes now I see better and whole shade in there is a reproduction something else not original to lamp. I will try to get you a better link so you can see the whole lamp as it was meant to be. I think the original I saw a few weeks ago was at auction went for lots and I really loved it.
There appear to be many reproductions of this lamp also, as even the newer ones sport different shades.

Really appreciate your input as the entire family is curious.
I would think about ensuring it was properly earthed if buying it.
