This is a Kinkozan Vase that I like very much. Very subtle colors with a beautiful butterfly In the middle of flowers. It measures 10" X 4 1/2. I bought it like an 1800 piece and was latter suggested a latter date 1926. Any comments will be welcomed. Thanks to Sandra Simon for her help with the dating of this vase.

I think that other people were also using the Kinkozan name up into the 1950s, but i could be wrong. Sandra Andracht is an active member of the FB Collecting Japanese Pottery page and she is working on a book on Kinkozan right now. this is a beautiful piece - no matter when it was made!

You have a really! wonderful collection but being mainly a glass collector I do like this one very much, it reminds me of some of the enamelled Baccarat opaline vases, which I believe is a style they did try to emulate in the 19th century.
Thank you very much. Kinkozan was doing satsuma like pieces. After he went to the Paris Expo in 1900 he changed his style to Art Nouveau which this vase is a sample.
