    I had this several years as you can see the paint coming off even a little pile of paint been in shelf 8 years no idea what it is or where it was made 1 idea was Noah cause of man and woman & sets of two animals or a toy of some kind plus how can i keep this from paint falling off ? put in seperate sandwich bags then put into a box ? or all together in a bag & box ?

      Cute !! Nesting dolls or in Russian "matryoshka" ; I would say you are right about the theme of set . Keep them nesting together , those smaller pieces are easy to lose .

      The style of the drawings, and the peeling paint, indicate that this was made in China, not Russia. Chinese knockoffs of the traditional Russian Matryoshka are common today, but often don't have the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the Russian ones. Once the paint starts chipping and peeling, there really isn't much one can do.
