      could be made by Pierre Jules Mene but I've never seen this one before it is only a guess, try to look for the signature P. J MENE

      this is my problem - there are no marks or signature on this piece . i have looked at mene but have only ever seen dog on its own or with another animal - never seen dog plus child

      It looked like a Mene statue to me also, but not with the african child.
