I found this painting, or replica, in my grandmother's home and have tried to find out as much information about it as possible but no luck! I have measured it at 20" by 26". I don't know if i should keep it as a family heirloom or what i should do with it! Please if anyone knows any information about this piece send it my way. Thanks so much!

You have a print that was sold in 1932 to celebrate George Washington's 200th birthday.

The bicentennial of Washington's birth was a huge event in the US-- many celebrations, dedications, and other events.

There was a huge demand for anything Washington, many different decorative items were created and sold to meet the demands.

This is a reproduction of a section of a portrait of George Washington painted by Gilbert Stuart. It became a very popular depiction and in 1932 just about every school, public building and office had a print hung up for his Bi-centennial.

So is there any type of demand for this portrait today or is it of any value?

Yes, there is value but it would be very minimal.

The print looks like it has heavy foxing in the white portions and the frame looks like it is average quality of the era.

I would expect about $10- 25 depending on venue.
