In 1971, my family went to visit relatives in Southern California. My dad's cousin was an animation artist and he had a studio in his home. My brother and I were captivated by the cels he had displayed around the room, and I remember his drafting table had some "Josie and The Pussycats" artwork in progress at the time, which thrilled me (my favorite!). He was so nice, he gave us 10 cels to take home with us as souvenirs. We have managed to keep them all these years, safely tucked away. At some point in adulthood, we split the set, so my brother has 5 and I have 5. Still tucked away safely and only brought out once in awhile to admire them.

The first cel has some old tape stuck on the edges. I must have done this as a kid, trying to keep the white paper background attached to the cel. I only did it to the one, fortunately. The three Pink Panther cels are numbered consecutively. The Inspector Clouseau and Cat in the Hat are random, although my brother has more of those two characters.

Have always wondered what the value is for these, mainly for insurance purposes (don't really intend to sell). Also wondering if there's a better way to store them without framing (yet). Right now they are in a large envelope in a box. That's been fine for the past 40 years, but I think I should protect them a little better.

Any information or suggestions from the community would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'd go to a local art store. They should have some kind of folder or sleeve that is acid-free. Keep away from draft, extreme heat, cold and moisture. If you do decide to frame them, keep them out of direct sunlight. Hope that helps!
